The Basics

One of the best ways to see the Seine is to walk along it, particularly on the central stretch from Les Invalides to Ile Saint-Louis. There, zigzag across the river on the Pont Alexandre III, Pont Royal, and Pont des Arts to see some of the most elegant and well-known architecture in France.

Alternatively, a Seine River cruise allows you to rest your legs and admire the same sights; book a brunch, lunch, or dinner cruise to combine your sightseeing with a French meal or opt for an Eiffel Tower combo to enjoy two of Paris’ most popular activities in one tour.

Paris Seine River Gourmet Dinner Cruise
The food was excellent and the waiter was very attentive. The boat was clean and the Cabaret singer was excellent. The views of the attractions were good. The evening was spolt as we felt rushed into finishing our drinks as it was obvious that they wanted to get the boat ready for the next trip. We were not offered the Tea or Coffee

Bateaux Parisiens Seine River Gourmet Dinner & Sightseeing Cruise
We saved this activity for one of the last nights of our trip, and we were so glad we did! The food was excellent, the boat was clean, and the service was great. Make sure to spend some time on the back of the boat (outside) for great photos. We opted for the 8:30 time slot. There was a spectrum of outfits, so don't feel like you have to wear a cocktail dress and heels. This was our favorite place to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle!

It was really romantic for me and my partner. The setting was really clean, well maintained and stylish. We were greeted by the friendly staff, the service wasn't to be faulted - always on tap with top ups of wine! We ended up eating 3 rolls of bread in the end that the waiter offered generously. The food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing! The famous stops were great to look at too and fascinating. Thank you

Seine River Cruise on board Vedettes du Pont Neuf
The entire trip and great information shared by the guide. We took the 8.45 pm cruise, it was perfect, maybe the 9.15 pm would have been better as most attractions would be lit up by then.

When to Get There

For a tranquil walk, head to the river in the early morning hours before most of the crowds and commuters arrive; or, go for an after-dinner stroll to take in the reflections of the City of Light on the water.

Exploring Canal Saint-Martin

In northeast Paris, the Canal Saint-Martin district is home to smaller waterways where footbridges and trendy locals replace the Seine’s traffic and tourists. Enjoy a more laid-back atmosphere and watch boats on the locks with a wander along the tree-shaded paths.
